Ok, after having moved successfully to my new apartment home, I found that the hardest thing to move in Germany is after all your DSL Internet access. Believe it or not, I have been 4 weeks offline at home, due to the switch in providers I made at the same time as moving to a new apartment.
Pretty impossible! Everything else moved nicely and quickly with us, but after 20+ years having the land-line phone with the former monopolist Deutsche Telekom, I had decided it would be about time to switch to a competitor for price and service, and had selected the Munich local provider M-net. Not their fault, but the termination of the former contract took 4 weeks, before that they could not install my new phone line.
The reason I did not just terminate the old one and got a new contract was that I kept my land-line phone number of course.
Anyway, thanks for keeping Alpenglow subscribed, and be prepared for some new material coming soon!
